To Place HVAC Equipment Components

  1. Open the Standard Preferences dialog and set the HVAC System and component values.
    Note: By default, only the Insulation Thickness and Insulation Material component properties are displayed.
  2. Select an equipment option from the HVAC Equipment gallery. The following options are available:

    Single Inlet Variable Air Volume Device

    or

    Dual Inlet Variable Air Volume Device

    or

    Fan Power Unit

    or

    HVAC Axial Fan

    or

    Radial Fan

    or

    Centrifugal Inline Round Fan

    or

    Air Filter Hvac Duct Cooler

    or

    Hvac Duct Heater

    or

    Duct Humidifier

  3. Pick one of the following Placement Points for the duct in the Place Component dialog:

    Main Port

    or

    Run Port

  4. Expand the HVAC Port Settings tab and define the options available for the port end preparations.
  5. Click the Design Conditions to define the dimensional parameters for the component (Width, Height, etc.) as well as the size of the ports located on the component.
  6. There are additional design properties which provide drop down lists to choose Connection types, Connection side (Top, Bottom, Front, Back) depending on the type of equipment component being placed.
  7. Pick a point in the drawing, or input the (x,y,z) coordinates in the AccuDraw window to determine the placement point. An outline of the component displays.
  8. Use the mouse to determine the direction for the component.
    Note: When placing an air volume device, you are not prompted for the direction.
  9. Again use the mouse to determine the rotation for the component.
  10. Right-click to end the placement procedure.
